As an Indian student, to be eligible for a Post Basic BSc Nursing undergraduate course, you have to fulfil the following requirements

  • Candidates must have completed at least 10+2 education from a recognized board, whether central or state.
  • They should have passed both theory and practical exams separately.
  • Candidates must also possess a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a UGC recognized university.
  • If applicable, candidates must have completed their compulsory internship before admission.
  • Aspirants need to obtain registration or RNRM Certification (RNRM is a license issued for Nurses who have successfully completed Nursing Courses from Indian Nursing Council (INC) recognized institutions. State Nursing Council is the RNRM license issuing authority. Every state in india has their state nursing council as regulatory body at state level.) from any State Nursing Council in India.

This course may appear to be a good substitute for a B.Sc in Nursing but the rigid entry requirements make it a tough nut to crack.

Because of 1 year of extra training, the weightage of post-basic B.Sc. nursing is some high than in B.Sc. nursing.
